Glacier View Cabin #1 offers a rustic escape near the historic Pinochle Trail and the majestic Matanuska Glacier. Hike, bike, or ride directly from the cabin! Inside, you'll find 1 queen bed, 2 bunks with foam mattresses, small nook, electricity, heater, keurig coffee maker, and hot water kettle. Features include room-darkening shades. Please bring your own pillows, sleeping bags, and drinking water. Our dry cabins offer convenient outhouses, a fire ring, and a picnic table outside.

Glacier View is one of those places that feels much more like a stretch of wild country than a town. There isn’t really a downtown or commercial center—just scattered homes, lodges, mountain views, and the spectacular Matanuska Glacier dominating the landscape along the Glenn Highway. The area has only a few hundred residents and is known for its quiet, remote, “real Alaska” atmosphere. The local vibe * Wide-open mountain valleys * Glacier views around almost every bend * Independent, outdoorsy residents * Very little traffic * Strong hunting, fishing, hiking, and snowmachine culture * Photographers, climbers, rafters, and road-trippers passing through It’s the kind of place where people stop to watch sheep on a mountainside or spend an hour taking photos of changing light on the glacier. Glacier View feels more rugged and less tourist-developed than places like Talkeetna or Seward.
